Akpos Okudu spring/summer 2011.
---Cocktail Hour ----
Putting together this collection was exhilarating; lots of fun, crazy and sometimes, not SO fun moments, with my friend/ brand manager (i know, fancy.lol) saze.
There was a lot of hard work and stress involved in putting together this collection, but the passion for my work however surpasses any downside it brings my way.
With this collection , I've definitely grown as a designer and business woman. I have a keen sense who the Akpos Okudu woman is and what she is about. we're really not about avante garde pieces, its more about clothes women LOVE to wear, WANT to wear and CAN wear.
This collection is inspired by everything from my favourite cocktails, to the colorful lorry's i see all around port Harcourt ( where i live) to even the colours of my rusty generator.
cocktail hour, is a mix of vibrant colours, ( cause i think colour really looks beautiful on women) and textures, which i have combined to create clothes that are fun, feminine and chic.
A lot of love and laughter, was put in the making of these pieces, i hope you enjoy wearing them as much as we enjoyed making them.
For spring/summer 2011, we decided to try our hands at something different, so we shot not one, but two look books. one for the out-Dorsey girl and one for the girl who will rather sit in a pretty bar and have a cocktail.
hope you like.
xx
